The efficiency of air conditioning (AC) systems depends on the operation of their air coolers at varying heat loads in response to current changeable climatic conditions. In general case, an overall heat load of any AC system comprises the unstable range, corresponding to ambient air processing with heat load fluctuations, and a comparatively stable part for subsequent air subcooling. Following from this approach, a rational design overall heat load is chosen to provide a maximum annular refrigeration capacity generation and divided into a comparatively stable basic part and a remaining part for ambient air precooling at changeable heat loads. The ambient air precooling mode with considerable heat load fluctuation needs load modulation, whereas the comparatively stable heat load range can be covered by operation at about nominal mode. According to modern trend in AC systems the load modulation is performed by varying refrigerant feed to air coolers in Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system. But with this the problem of inefficient operation of air coolers caused by dry-out of inner walls at the final stage of inside tube refrigerant evaporation followed by dropping the intensity of heat transfer remains unsolved. As alternative approach of the heat load modulation in AC systems there is a concept of incomplete refrigerant evaporation with overfilling air coils that leads to excluding a dry-out of inner surface of air coils and is realized through liquid refrigerant recirculation by injector (jet pump).

The fuel efficiency of gas engines is effected by the temperature of intake air at the suction of turbocharger. The data on dependence of fuel consumption and engine electric power on the intake air temperature were monitored for Jenbacher gas engine JMS 420 GS-N.LC to evaluate its influence. A waste heat of engine is rejected for heating water to the temperature of about 90??. The heat received is used in absorption lithium-bromide chiller to produce a cold in the form of chilled water. A cooling capacity of absorption chiller firstly is spent for technological needs and then for feeding the central air conditioner for cooling the ambient air incoming the engine room, from where the air is sucked by the engine turbocharger. The monitoring data revealed the reserves to enhance the efficiency of traditional cooling system of intake air by absorption chiller through deeper cooling. This concept can be realized in two ways: by addition cooling a chilled water from absorption chiller to about 5-7?? for feeding engine intake air cooler or by two-stage cooling with precooling ambient air by chilled water from ACh in the first stage and subsequent deep cooling air to the temperatures 7-10?? in the second stage of intake air cooler by using a refrigerant as a coolant. In both cases the ejector chiller could be applied as the most simple in design.

One of the ways to increase the energy efficiency of ejector refrigerating machines is to use of thermopressor technologies, which are based on to use of the process of thermogasdynamic compression. This process consists in contact cooling and at the same time increasing the gas or steam pressure. The thermopressor application in the ejector refrigerating machines cycle installed at the outlet of the ejector, allows, by increasing the pressure during vapour contact cooling to a saturation tempera-ture, to increase the ejection coefficient U and, accordingly, the thermal coefficient z. A number of refrigerants were chosen for analysis of cycle of ejector refrigerating machines, among which those traditionally is used for ejector refrigerating ma-chines, and a number of other refrigerants that can be used in ejector refrigerating machines based on the possibility of using the thermopressor. It is possible to in-crease the ejector refrigerating machines efficiency by using the thermopressor while ensuring a greater temperature difference. With the temperature difference 60–100 oC, the relative pressure increase is mostly positive. The following refrigerants have the most significance: R717, R134a, R227ea, R1234ze(E), R1234yf. Analysis of the ejector refrigerating machines scheme by using the thermopressor shows that the greatest efficiency at the highest possible boiling points in the generator tg is the refrigerants: R142b, R600, R1233zd(Е), R245fa.
