Cloud computing is a relatively new technology that facilitates collaborative creation and modification of documents over the internet in real time. Here we provide an introductory assessment of the available statistical functions in three leading cloud spreadsheets namely Google Spreadsheet, Microsoft Excel Web App, and Zoho Sheet. Our results show that the developers of cloud-based spreadsheets are not performing basic quality control, resulting in statistical computations that are misleading and erroneous. Moreover, the developers do not provide sufficient information regarding the software and the hardware, which can change at any time without notice. Indeed, rerunning the tests after several months we obtained different and sometimes worsened results.

AACSB has now mandated that analytics be integrated into the undergraduate business curriculum. Given that the subject of statistics provides the underpinnings of the developing discipline of business analytics, this article focuses on effective course delivery aimed at enhancing the learning of introductory business statistics in the modern world of big data. To this end, the choice and use of computational software tools are essential to the successful delivery of the course. A set of seven competing tools are compared and contrasted, their advantages and disadvantages are discussed, and a link is provided to show demonstrations of needed instructions and resulting output.

Statistical software" encompasses several distinct classes of software. This report explains what formal methods, tools, and approaches may be able to increase assurance of results of using statistical software and implementing differential privacy. To provide context, we present an exemplary process for assured results. The parts are data assurance, algorithm design, software production, correctness proofs, postproduction assurance of software, and result checking. We note a workshop we organized to support this paper and finish with recommended formal methods, tools, and researchers doing particularly pertinent work.
