“…3S and 5S), we can indicate that the signals between 7.5 and 6.5 ppm correspond to polyphenolic compounds (flavonoids) (Apaza Ticona et al 2021). These extracts rich in polyphenolic compounds may have anti-inflammatory activity (Bezerra et al 2017). In our case, based on the literature and the assays that we carried out, we can indicate that its mechanism of action is inhibition of TNF-α by downregulation gene expression for NF-κB.…”

“…Data of morphology, weight, FAMACHA, body condition score and blood variables were analyzed using comparison of means, performed using two-way ANOVA for comparison between groups and time (repeated measures) and then compared using the Tukey test. The data were analyzed using JMP 8 4 and values were considered significant at P ≤ 0.05.…”

“…Researchers reported that quebracho tannins stimulated the immune response and caused protective effects on the intestinal mucosa in sheep experimentally infected with gastrointestinal parasites [26]. Researchers, using aqueous extracts of Psittacanthus plagiophyllus containing 5.39% of tannins, reported potent anti-inflammatory effects, reducing the total count of leukocytes and lymphocytes in a model of inflammation induced by carrageenan [4]. In another study, the supplementation with quebracho extract (0.5 and 1%) promoted anti--inflammatory effects on leukocytes, and the concentration of globulins increased, stimulating the immune response, similar to what was observed in the present study with the greater doses of tannins.…”

“…The global paw oedema evolution process for the groups treated with microemulsion was different from the negative control group and the group treated with diclofenac (ANOVA, p < 0.05 ). Dextran generates an osmotic oedema caused by the mast cells degranulation with the release of histamine and serotonin and increase of vascular permeability [ 51 , 52 ]. The decrease of the pow oedema of the animals treated with the juniper microemulsion indicates anti-histamine and anti-serotine activity properties, in the dextran experimental model used.…”
