“…This is likely because structures with limited mineralization and high organic matter content have a greater affinity for pigment compared with highly mineralized areas, making these less-mineralized structures more visible and easily identifiable when stained with pigment-containing rosin. Vikhe et al (2020) used the Pravara (a plant stain) staining process for analyzing the ground sections of teeth, with the expectation that hard tissue visibility would be improved with this process.
