Stable observer-based control for long network-induced delays

Abstract: With regards to the characteristics of uncertain long delay of networked control system (NCS), the stochastic time-delay system can be transformed to a deterministic delay system by placing proper quantities of buffers at the nodes of the double-end networked control systems. An observer-based control design subject to fixed time delay is proposed to construct the augmented state-space model. Based on the Lyapunov function and linear matrix inequality (LMI) theorem, sufficient and necessary conditions for stab… Show more

“…The corresponding delay compensation algorithm was based on a deterministic state estimator. In , similar delay maximizing strategies were presented to deal with sensor‐to‐estimator measurement feedback signals with a buffer or ‘waiting’ scheme. As its name implies, assuming that there is a maximal value of time delay, this maximal‐delayed data packet is guaranteed to arrive at the estimator.…”

“…Research work on network‐faced state estimation has gone through several phases: first of all, a deterministic model , secondly, stochastic measurement feedback or network modeling , and today, robust design to conquer network‐induced issues . With the change of different network environments and new required performance demands, these techniques corresponding to the previously mentioned phases have been developed up to now.…”
