In order to ensure an ongoing and long-term breeding progress of soybean, stable sources of major quality traits across multi-environments need to be identified. Here, a panel of 135 soybean genotypes was tested in three different Chinese environments, including Beijing, Anhui, and Hainan during the 2017 and 2018 growing seasons to identify stable genotypes for cultivation under varying environmental conditions. The weighted average of absolute scores biplot (WAASB) for the best linear unbiased predictions of the genotype-environment interaction and multi-trait stability index (MTSI) were utilized to determine the stability of the soybeans for seven seed composition traits viz; protein content, oil content, and five fatty acids (palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, and linolenic acids). Based on the WAASB index, the following genotypes were identified as stable genotypes for some specific traits; ZDD12828 and ZDD12832 for protein content, WDD01583 and WDD03025 for oil content, ZDD23040 for palmitic acid, WDD00033 for stearic acid, ZDD23822 for oleic acid, ZDD11183 for linoleic acid, and ZDD08489 for linolenic acid. Furthermore, based on MTSI at a selection intensity of 10%, 14 soybean genotypes were selected for their average performance and stability. Overall, the MTSI was shown to be a powerful and simple tool for identifying superior genotypes in terms of both performance and stability, hence, identifying stable soybean genotypes for future breeding programs of quality traits.

Physiological and Biochemical Parameters of Lupin Seed Subjected to 29 Years of Storage

Physiological and biochemical changes resulting from long‐term storage of lupin (Lupinus luteus L.) seed were studied in a precisely controlled experiment to gain a better knowledge of the seed deterioration process. The seed was stored at different temperatures (0, −14, and +20°C) during a 29‐yr period. It was found that after long‐term storage at −14 and 0°C, the seed germinated well, whereas seed stored at +20°C did not germinate at all. The contents of albumin, biogenic amines, and soluble carbohydrates were determined. The content of albumin decreased in seed stored at +20°C. In two‐dimensional electrophoresis of seed proteins, 343 spots were obtained with seed stored at −14°C, whereas the extract of seed stored at +20°C gave 290 spots. Out of all detected spots, 27 displayed significant differences in intensity related to seed storage temperature (−14, 0, +20°C). The identified 27 proteins could be assigned to four major functional categories: storage proteins, proteins connected with defense mechanisms, proteins responsible for energy reactions, and proteins involved in growth and development. Spermine, spermidine, and putrescine were also analyzed in stored seed. The content of biogenic amines was higher in seed stored at +20°C. Significant changes occurred in the content of soluble carbohydrates during seed storage. In seed stored at +20°C, verbascose did not occur and the total content of raffinose family oligosaccharides decreased. The content of reducing monosaccharides and sucrose increased. The results show that lupin seed storage at −14 and 0°C resulted in very similar levels of physiological and biochemical changes, affecting the germination rate, proteome, biogenic amines, and soluble carbohydrates, whereas storage at +20°C is incomparably more detrimental.

Veći sadržaj ulja imaju sorte Trijumf i Venera. Sorta Sava poseduje veoma izbalansiran sadržaj ulja i proteina, tako da se u preradi može koristiti za dobijanje raznovrsnih proizvoda od soje, a sorta Rubin ima najveći sadržaj proteina i pogodna je za dobijanje visokoproteinskih proizvoda. Procenjena prerađivačka vrednost predstavlja dobar parametar za opisivanje tehnološkog kvaliteta soje. Na osnovu višegodišnje prostorne analize, moguće je izdvojiti uže geografske regione u kojima vladaju povoljni uslovi za dobijanje sirovine sa većim sadžajem proteina, odnosno ulja. Ključne reči: prerada, proteini, sadržaj proteina, sadržaj ulja, soja, sorte, tehnološki kvalitet, ulja zasniva na Brumm-Hurbrugh modelu (Brumm & Hurbrugh 1990). U ovom radu korišćene su dve minimalne prave iz ovog modela. Prva minimalna prava označava kombinaciju sadržaja proteina i ulja ispod koje nije moguće dobiti sojinu sačmu sa 44%. Druga minimalna prava određuje granične vrednosti sadržaja proteina i ulja preko kojih je moguće dobiti sojinu sačme sa više od 48% proteina. Za izračunavanje procenjene prerađivačke vrednosti genotipova, za svaki genotip urađena je združena analiza za sve lokalitete i godine. Analiza procenjene prerađivačke vrednosti lokaliteta urađena je za svaki lokalitet posebno, uključujući sve genotipove i godine. Za sva izračunavanja i statističke analize korišćen je program Statistica 10, Stat Soft. Rezultati i diskusijaTehnološki kvalitet zrna soje čine ukupni sadržaji proteina i ulja, koji se nalaze u negativnoj korelaciji.
