Stability Evaluation and Structural Parameters Optimization of Stope Based on Area Bearing Theory

Abstract: A reasonable and stable stope structure is the premise of realizing safe mining of underground metal ore. To safely mine the gently inclined medium-thick ore body, stope stability in Bainiuchang Mine was analyzed based on the pillar area bearing theory, and stope stability with regard to nine groups of structural parameters was numerically simulated. The results show that the existing stope structural parameters failed to maintain stability requirements and tended to be exposed to the risk of stope collapse. T… Show more

“…In order to assess the roof safety in the Halazi Iron Mine No.2 mining area under different mining widths, it is necessary to conduct an analysis using theoretical methods. The Mathews stability chart method is based on the rock mass classification system [ [20] , [21] , [22] ]. By collecting and analyzing a large amount of actual mining parameters, a stability chart was established, depicting the relationship between the rock mass stability index N and the shape coefficient S of the exposed mining face area [ 23 ].…”

“…Zhang et al used an orthogonal experimental design method to investigate the effects of the height, length, and width of mining pillars and the length and width of mining rooms on the stability of goaf [24]. Qiu et al derived a limit equilibrium equation for mining pillars based on the area-bearing theory and used this equation to optimize the structural parameters of the mining area, such as the mining height, pillar spacing, and row spacing [25]. The research results obtained to date are of great significance in optimizing the mining height using the room column method.…”

“…It is known that the parameters of the chambers depend on the stability of the ore exposure plane under the influence of mining pressure and the seismic effect [30][31][32]. The response of the backfilled rock mass to destruction under the action of three axial loads was determined [33].…”
