Stability Analysis of MHD Stagnation-point Flow towards a Permeable Stretching/Shrinking Sheet in a Nanofluid with Chemical Reactions Effect

Abstract: The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stagnation-point flow of a nanofluid towards a permeable stretching/shrinking sheet with chemical reaction effect is investigated. The governing nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations using a similarity transformation which are then solved numerically using the boundary value problem solver, bvp4c built in Matlab software. The numerical results are obtained for the skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt… Show more

“…Among the earlier studies on mathematical formulation of stability analysis were examined by Harris et al (2009) Merkin (1986, Roşca and Pop (2013), and Weidman et al (2006). Many recent works also discussed the existence of dual solutions and emphasis on stability analysis (Bakar et al 2018;Dzulkifli et al 2018;Hamid & Nazar 2016;Jamaludin et al 2018;Kamal et al 2019;Naganthran et al 2018;Soid et al 2018). All the reported literatures implemented the bvp4c solver in the MATLAB software to examine the paired and stability solutions.…”

“…The same behavior of nano-particles was examined by Akbari et al [7] and Hayat et al [8]. Kamal et al [9] investigated the MHD stagnation point flow of nano-fluid in the presence of a chemical reaction. The unsteady nano-fluid flow through the previous medium was analyzed by Kumar et al [10].…”

“…The selection of the initial guess and the boundary layer thickness, η ∞ are particular depend on the parameters applied to obtain the solutions. Moreover, several researchers [42][43][44][45][46] are also employing this solver for solving the boundary layer flow problems. First, Equations (10) to (12) are reduced to a system of ordinary differential equations of the first order.…”
