Spontaneous CP -violation in the simplest little Higgs model and its future collider tests: The scalar sector

Abstract: We propose spontaneous CP violation in the simplest little Higgs model. In this model, the pseudoscalar field can acquire a nonzero vacuum expectation value. This leads to a mixing between the two scalars with different CP charge, which means that spontaneous CP violation occurs. It is also a connection between the composite Higgs mechanism and CP violation. Facing the experimental constraints, the model is still viable for both scenarios in which the extra scalar appears below or around the electroweak scale.… Show more

“…When m 2 m 1 /2, strict constraint comes from the bound for h 1 → 2h 2 rare decay channel. For light m 2 with a mass around (15 − 60) GeV, we have |s θ | (0.03 − 0.15); while for large m 2 ( m 1 /2), we have s θ (0.15 − 0.3) [4]. With the updated CEFT formalism, we also obtained 12 TeV m T 24 TeV in this model.…”

“…Requiring the electroweak VEV to be 246 GeV and the CP-even Higgs mass to be 125 GeV should eliminate two parameters, leaving only three 5 At tree level we do not include a ðΦ † 1 Φ 2 Þ 2 þ H:c: term because it formally violates CSB. We note that introducing such a term may lead to spontaneous CP violation [27]. Furthermore, if both the ðΦ † 1 Φ 2 Þ 2 þ H:c: term and Majorana mass terms for N R 's are introduced, the SLH light neutrino masses can be radiatively generated [28].…”
