“…The contribution of the kaon exchange diagram is much larger than that of the pion exchange diagram but it does not account completely for the cross sections. The dominance of the kaon-exchange diagram found here is consistent with some recent results reported by the DISTO Collaboration [29]. They performed a measurement of the polarization transfer coefficient D N N for the pp → pK + Λ reaction and found it to be very large and negative which is consistent with a mechanism dominated by kaon-exchange.…”

“…π). This problem was brought to the fore by the DISTO measurement of the spin-transfer parameter D N N between the incident proton and final Λ in the pp → K + pΛ reaction [221]. The negative value of D N N found was taken as evidence for the dominance of kaon compared to pion exchange [198], but it is important to stress that the possibility of ρ exchange was not considered in this discussion.…”

“…No evidence for the existence of ppK − bound states could be found and upper limits for the production of such states of the order of a few µb were extracted. To get a consistent description of the open strangeness production, we further improve this method and develop a framework that allows for the simultaneous analysis of seven different data sets measured in the p+p→p+K + +Λ reaction by the COSY-TOF, HADES, DISTO and FOPI experiments in fixed target experiments at kinetic energies in the laboratory frame varying from 2.14 to 3.5 GeV [20,[22][23][24][25][26][27]. This is the very first joint PWA analysis of different data sets for this reaction.…”
