Speech enhancement using modified wiener filter based MMSE and speech presence probability estimation

Abstract: In the present-day communications speech signals get contaminated due to various sorts of noises that degrade the speech quality and adversely impacts speech recognition performance. To overcome these issues, a novel approach for speech enhancement using Modified Wiener filtering is developed and power spectrum computation is applied for degraded signal to obtain the noise characteristics from a noisy spectrum. In next phase, MMSE technique is applied where Gaussian distribution of each signal i.e. original an… Show more

“…The signals are demodulated, deinterleaved and channel decoded to recover the audio signals. codeword and then interleaved [22][23][24]. The modulated signal is splitting as a layer into data stream having different rates where higher-order if it has a higher data rate, as a result, each one of the layers might own the same bandwidth [25].…”

“…The experimental results show that the SNR by single input adaptive noise cancellation is (about 65.281 dB) better than dual input adaptive noise cancellation (about 45.522 dB). Bolisetty and Santiprabha [25] A novel approach for speech enhancement using modified wiener filtering is developed, and power spectrum computation and MMSE technique are applied, to overcome communications speech signals issues, and compared to other techniques which description in [26], the paper considers the NOIZEUS database. The results claim that the suggested model provides better SNR than other techniques for airport, car, and train noise with SNR values of 4.36 dB, 4.77 dB, and 4.47 dB respectively.…”
