Spectrofluorimetric Assessment of Metoclopramide Hydrochloride Using Terbium Doped in PMMA Matrix Optical Sensor

Abstract: A new, simple and accurate spectrofluorimetric method for the determination of metoclopramide hydrochloride was developed. The metoclopramide hydrochloride can remarkably enhance the luminescence intensity of the Tb(3+) ion doped in PMMA matrix at λ(ex)=360 nm in methanol at pH 6.9. The intensity of the emission band at 545 nm of Tb(3+) ion doped in PMMA matrix is increased due to the energy transfer from metoclopramide hydrochloride to Tb(3+) in the excited stated. The effect of different parameters, e.g., pH… Show more

“…After the addition of ACAC to the Tb 3+ ion in the PMMA matrix, the characteristic peaks of the Tb 3+ ion ( 5 D 4 → 7 F 6 , 5 D 4 → 7 F 5 , and 5 D 4 →F 4 ) appeared (see curves 2 and 1 in Fig. 2) [27][28][29][30][31]. Comparing curve 4 with curves 2 and 3 in Fig.…”

“…6 H 2 O in sol-gel matrix was studied under the conditions established above. The results show that there is no quenching in the energy of Tb 3+ -(HCT) in solgel matrix in the presence of acetonitrile [30][31][32][33][39][40][41][42].…”

“…Also, the luminescence intensities for the complex in aprotic solvent like acetonitrile and DMF are stronger than in protic solvent like water and ethanol. This could be attributed to the efficient quenching of the excited state of the Eu 3 þ and Tb 3 þ by interaction with high-energy vibration oscillators like O-H groups [35].…”
