Spectrofluorimetric Assessment of Hydrochlorothiazide Using Optical Sensor Nano-Composite Terbium Ion Doped in Sol-Gel Matrix

Abstract: A new, simple, sensitive and selective spectrofluorimetric method for the determination of Hydrochlorothiazide was developed in acetonitrile at pH 6.2. The Hydrochlorothiazide can remarkably enhance the luminescence intensity of the Tb(3+) ion doped in sol-gel matrix at λ(ex) = 370 nm. The intensity of the emission band of Tb(3+) ion doped in sol-gel matrix was increased due to the energy transfer from the triplet excited state of Hydrochlorothiazide to ((5)D(4)) excited energy state of Tb(3) ion. The enhancem… Show more

“…The inability of detection in unclear or colored solutions and instability of some AuNPs in aqueous phase limit time of life of such sensors, whereas changeability of AuNP aggregates makes reevaluation of the analysis difficult. These problems could be overcome using solid-phase sensors [16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24].…”

“…Several nanoparticle-based colorimetric approaches on a solid-state platform have been developed [16][17][18][19][20][21][22]. Most of them are based on using nanoparticles firmly attached to a solid matrix or incorporated into a flexible brush-like surface layer.…”

“…The aim of this study is to propose a new signal processing approach based on the simultaneous quantitative detection of losartan potassium (LOS) and hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) in tablets without the usage of a separation step using CWT and zero crossing methodology [15]. In pharmacological and biological investigations, several analytical techniques for the determination of LOS and HCT have been published, including spectrophotometric methods [16][17][18][19], spectrofluorometric methods [20], and chromatographic methods [21][22][23][24][25].…”
