Introdução: O vírus da dengue, por meio do mosquito-vetor do gênero Aedes spp., ocasiona a dengue que foi responsável por cerca de 2,1 milhões de casos no ano de 2019 no Brasil. A região Nordeste brasileira é a segunda mais prevalente em casos de dengue, contando com cerca de 1⁄5 das notificações naquele ano. Este estudo objetiva compreender o estado da arte da infecção pelo vírus da dengue no Nordeste brasileiro. Metodologia: Estudo sistemático da literatura com uso das palavras-chave “Dengue” e “Nordeste brasileiro” nas plataformas de busca SciELO, Lilacs e Pubmed/Medline, que ocorreu durante o mês de outubro de 2021. Resultados e Discussão: A infecção pelo vírus da dengue está correlacionada com a dinâmica espaço-temporal do mosquito e os determinantes sociais em saúde dos grupos sociais, a análise de surtos prévios e a situação atual da infecção pelo vírus da dengue, e, os modelos preditivos de surtos, o que permite a adoção de medidas preventivas primárias e secundárias contra a dengue. Conclusão: A dengue nos estados nordestinos tem íntima relação com os determinantes sociais em saúde dos grupos socioeconômicos, o que pode ser pormenorizada por meio da aplicação de modelos preditivos com adoção de medidas de combate ao mosquito-vetor.
