“…The exception was site A 10 , which showed significantly higher concentrations in summer than in winter. This trend was consistent with trends observed in many other studies (Ding et al 2013;Gao et al 2014;Li et al 2011;Li et al 2008b;Lohmann and Jones 1998;Raun et al 2005). Min et al (2014) observed the opposite trend for PCDD/F concentrations in 10 cities near Seoul.…”

“…The main contributors to the 2,3,7,8-PCDD/F concentrations in summer were 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-HpCDF; 2,3,7,8-TCDF; and 1,2,3,6,7,8-TCDF, which accounted for 13.6-27.1 % (mean 19.4 %), 4.0-17.6 % (mean 10.8 %), and 7.4-13.0 % (mean 9.8 %) of the total 2,3,7,8-PCDD/F concentrations, respectively. In winter, 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-HpCDF; OCDD; and 2,3,7,8-TCDF dominated the PCDD/F concentration profiles, providing relative contributions of 9.9- (Gao et al 2014;Li et al 2008b;Moussaoui et al 2012;Yu et al 2006). Our results indicated that PCDFs (70.1 % in summer and 72.2 % in winter) were more dominant than PCDDs (29.9 % in summer and 27.8 % in winter).…”

“…Figure 2 shows the map of the sampling area. Air samples were collected using polyurethane foam (PUF) passive samplers [17][18][19]. The passive sampler consisted of two different sizes of stainless steel bowls (30 and 24 cm) and polyurethane filters (14 cm diameter, 1.35 cm thick, with a surface area of 365 cm 2 and density of 0.030 g/ cm 3 ).…”

“…Passive samplers was installed at a minimum of 2 m from the ground in an unobstructed air flow (Schuster et al, 2015). Sampling rate of 3.5 m 3 /day was used to calculate the sampling volume (Shoeib and Harner, 2002;Pozo et al, 2011;Gao et al, 2014). Before air sampling, PUF discs were cleaned by means of soxhlet extraction with toluene as a solvent over first 24 h, then over next 24 h with acetone and the last 8 h in toluene.…”
