Abstract:We introduce phenomenological understanding of the electromagnetic component of the physical vacuum, the EM vacuum, as a basic medium for all masses of the expanding Universe, and "Casimir polarization" of this medium arising in the vicinity of any material object in the Universe as a result of conjugation of the electric field components of the EM vacuum on both sides ("external" and "internal") of atomic nucleus boundary of the each mass with vacuum. It is shown that the gravitational attraction of two material objects in accordance with Newton's law of gravity arises as a result of overlapping of the domains of Casimir polarization of the EM vacuum created by atomic nuclei of the objects, taking into account the longrange gravitational influence of all masses of the Universe on each nucleus of these objects (Mach's idea). Newton's law of gravitational attraction between two bodies is generalized to the case of gravitational interaction of a system of bodies when the center of mass of the pair of bodies shifted relative to the center of mass of the system. The unique smallness of gravitational interactions as compared with the fundamental nuclear (strong and weak) and electromagnetic ones is determined by the ratio of the characteristic size of the domain of Casimir polarization of the EM vacuum in the vicinity of atomic nuclei to the Hubble radius of the Universe.

From Relativistic to Quantum Universe: Observation of a Spatially-Discontinuous Particle Dynamics beyond Relativity

We perform an experimental test where we directly observe light-induced electron transitions with a macroscopic spatial discontinuity. The effect is related to the fundamental indivisibility of macroscopic orbit-like quantum states reminiscent of so-called extended states in the integer quantum Hall system. The test has become realizable due to the discovering of a quantum phase with spontaneous pervasive quantum ordering reminiscent of that of a single atom. The observed transitions may be regarded as a peculiar quantum dynamics beyond relativity, which implies that the current relativistic model of universe should be replaced by a deeper quantum model. It is the Bohm's model of undivided universe which now should involve a deeper-than-classical concept of absolute simultaneity and a deeperthan-relativistic concept of space and time. Ultimately, our test thus establishes a new hierarchy of fundamental physical theories where the de Broglie-Bohm realistic quantum theory is the deepest theory which does not contradict either classical physics or relativity but rather is beyond both. This is because the fact that quantum theory is dealing with a deeper reality where physical objects are not self-sufficient entities and therefore their discontinuous transitions are possible within an overall quantum system which may well be macroscopic.

Although quantum theory, relativity and gravity provide excellent predictions of observations in their corresponding domains, a qualitative understanding of these three pillars of fundamental physics and their connection, is still very much lacking. As shown in this paper, by considering a medium (ether) in three-dimensional Euclidean space, representing potential energy, and waves in this medium representing all physical objects and phenomena, all three can be much better connected and understood. All waves move with the velocity of light c which is only approximately constant because it is assumed to depend on medium density. From this medium with waves model of physics, three delusions obscuring fundamental physics are identified. These prevent connecting relativity, gravity and quantum theory and obscure their qualitative understanding. As to the quantitative understanding, the waves are shown to connect to the mathematics of relativity and gravity. In connecting to the mathematics of quantum theory, a specific type of wave, called luminal waves, is shown to have a huge advantage. On the other hand, this type of wave is shown to reside at a less fundamental level than a second type of wave that is also considered in this paper.
