“…The Schiff base ligands, H 2 cd3OMesalMeen, H 2 cd4OMesalMeen, H 2 cd5OMesalMeen, were prepared according to procedures described in the literature [20,[24][25][26]. The complexes shown in Scheme 1 were synthesized as follow: To a refluxing solution of the unsymmetrical ligands (H 2 cd3-, 4-, 5-OMesalMeen) (0.1 mmol) in 10 mL of chloroform/methanol mixture (2:1) under N 2 atmosphere, was added a solution of Co(CH 3 COO) 2 .4H 2 O (1 mmol) in methanol (10 mL) drop wisely.…”

“…The weak bands at 2920-2970 cm -1 in the ligands are related to C-H modes of vibrations. In cobalt(III) complexes containing PBu 3 these bands were very stronger, as assignable to C-H vibrations of PBu 3 [22]. The strong absorption band between 1600-1634 cm -1 corresponding to azomethine (C=N) groups, this band is shifted to lower frequencies by 4-22 cm -1 relative to the free ligand upon the coordination of the nitrogen atoms [28].…”

“…The competition between chelating and bridging coordination mode is an important factor in producing mono, di and polynuclear metal complexes. In view of the importance of tin compounds in medicinal chemistry and as a part of our ongoing work on metal Schiff base complexes, [24][25][26][27] herein, we describe synthesis and characterization of some tin(IV) Schiff base complexes with general formula . This work is also extended to present some well-known properties of the complexes, such as plausible descriptions of stability constants, HOMO-LUMO orbital energies and dipole moments as ascribed on the basis of DFT calculations.…”
