Some effects of fats with dietary carbohydrates on the lipids on the surface of the skin

Abstract: SUMMARY Young men and women were given diets containing various carbohydrate mixtures given with either sunflower seed oil or cream and the triglyceride and cholesterol concentration on the surface of the skin above the right scapula was determined. In men, the triglyceride level on the surface of the skin was reduced by sunflower seed oil. In young women the nature of the dietary constituents seemed to have no marked effect on the lipids on the surface of the skin.
