Abstract: In vitro micropropagation based on somatic embryogenesis provides an efficient means to multiply selected genotypes of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.). Despite its considerable potential, somatic embryogenesis can yield plants bearing a homeotic flowering abnormality known as mantled.
