b The use of the neutral organophosphorus compoun ds tri-n-butylphosphate (TBP), tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO), and bis(di-n-hexyl-phosphiny1)methane (HDPM) as stationary phases in the reversed-phase partition chromatography of various metal chlorides, nitrates, and perchlorates was investigated. RI and R, values are reported as a function of the acid concentration of the mobile phase for the movement of a large number of cations on paper impregnated with TBP, TOPO, or HDPM.Elution curves are also given for several alkali metal and alkaline earth perchlorates on columns packed with Kel-F treated with these three extractants.
