Electrically conductive polymeric nanocomposites with nanoparticles are adaptable types of nanomaterials that are prospective for various applications. The extraordinary features of copper oxide (CuO) and aluminium oxide (Al2O3) nanostructures, encourages extensive studies to prospect these metal oxide nanocomposites as potential electroactive materials in sensing and biosensing applications. This study suggested a new CuO/Al2O3 nanocomposite-based polymeric coated wire membrane sensor for estimating naltrexone hydrochloride (NTX) in commercial formulations. Naltrexone hydrochloride and sodium tetraphenylborate (Na-TPB) were incorporated in the presence of polymeric polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and solvent mediator o-nitrophenyloctyl ether (o-NPOE) to form naltrexone tetraphenylborate (NTX-TPB) as an electroactive material. The modified sensor using NTX-TPB-CuO/Al2O3 nanocomposite displayed high selectivity and sensitivity for the discrimination and quantification of NTX with a linearity range 1.0 × 10−9–1.0 × 10−2 mol L−1 and a regression equation EmV = (58.25 ± 0.3) log [NTX] + 754.25. Contrarily, the unmodified coated wire sensor of NTX-TPB exhibited a Nernstian response at 1.0 × 10−5–1.0 × 10−2 mol L−1 and a regression equation EmV = (52.1 ± 0.2) log [NTX] + 406.6. The suggested modified potentiometric system was validated with respect to various criteria using the methodology recommended guidelines.

Herein, we investigated the analytical features of potentiometric immunosensors for detection of alphafetoprotein (AFP) in hepatocellular carcinoma at different electrodes, such as carbon fiber microelectrode (CFME) and carbon-disk electrode (CDE), respectively. To construct such an immunosensor, anti-AFP capture antibodies were first conjugated covalently onto the activated electrodes through typical carbodiimide coupling. Thereafter, one-step immunoreaction protocol was successfully introduced to develop a new potentiometric immunoassay upon addition of AFP. Accompanying the antigen-antibody reaction, the surface charges of the modified electrodes were changed for the readout of electric potential. Results indicated that the linear range of CDE-based immunosensor was 0.1-100 ng mL À 1 AFP, whereas the assay sensitivity by using CFME could be further increased to 3.2 pg mL À 1 with the linear range from 0.01 to 500 ng mL À 1 AFP. Meanwhile, CFME-based immunosensor showed high sensitivity, good reproducibility and specificity, and could be utilized for the analysis of human serum specimens with consistent results relative to commercialized ELISA kit.

The physicochemical properties, color characteristics, and biogenic amine (BA) concentrations of Konya Green cheese during ripening process with mold were investigated.Four productions were made in different periods, and the samples were analyzed at the end of the cold storage period (0) and on days 1, 3, 7, 15, 21, 24, and 30 of mold ripening. It was found that dry matter, acidity, and salt values tend to increase, whereas pH and a w values tend to decrease during the mold ripening period in all production groups.Total BA content increased significantly from 70.91 to 136.95 mg/kg during the ripening period (p < .01). Principal components explained 92.5% of the total variation among the four production group cheese. Based on the Hierarchical clustering analysis, three clusters were obtained: 1st (0, 3, 15), 2nd (1, 24, 30), and 3rd (7, 21). Tyramine, cadaverine, putrescine, and histamine were observed in 2nd cluster as per the PCA. Novelty impact statementThe biogenic amine formation and dominancy of the principal biogenic amins through ripening period of Konya Green cheese were determined using RP-HPLC. The predominant biogenic amines determined at the end of the ripening time were tyramine, cadaverine, and putrescine which represent around 81% of the total BA present. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study for determinig the biogenic amin production of Konya Green cheese. How to cite this article: Telli N, Topkafa M.
