“…Among them, calixresorcinarenes are gaining considerable attention because of their inherent hollow cavities and web-type structures [22], providing a stable nanoparticle environment. Calixresorcinarenes are large cyclic tetramers [23] possessing a cup-like hollow cavity surrounded by hydrophilic groups [24], and are easily synthesized by the condensation of resorcinols with any alkyl or aryl aldehyde. To our knowledge only Shen's group [25] has used resorcinarene to synthesize PdNPs hitherto.…”

“…New network functional polymers were synthesized by immobilization of calix [4]arenes on cross-linked polysterene [3] and by catalytic resol polycondensation of cis-tetraphenylcalix [4]resorcinarene derivatives with formaldehyde [4][5][6][7]. It was shown that immobilized cis-tetraphenylcalix [4]resorcinarenes are nanoreactors for catalytic hydrogenation processes [8], solid polyelectrolytes [9], cation exchangers [4,10,11] and biomemetics, the latter making it possible to consider the processes occurring in biological polymer systems [12,13] at the molecular level. The structure of an elementary unit (Figure 1) of network polymers received by polycondensation of cistetraphenylcalix [4]resorcinarene with formaldehyde is given in [6].…”

“…Reaction (1) was studied at a gas pressure of 1.013 × 10 -5 Pa at temperatures of 303-328 K. Hydrogenation was performed by the procedure [10]. To prevent the side process of re esterification, methyl, ethyl, and pro pyl esters were hydrogenated in methanol, ethanol, and propanol, respectively.…”
