Solid-liquid equilibrium data of amoxicillin and hydroxyphenylglycine in aqueous media

Abstract: -The enzymatic synthesis of amoxicillin is catalyzed by Penicillin G Acylase (PGA). As byproducts, hydroxyphenylglycine and alcohol are also formed from hydrolytic reactions and antibiotic synthesis, respectively. The design of this process should be directed to promote the synthesis reaction. At the same time, it is necessary to reduce the hydrolytic reaction of amoxicillin through its crystallization or separation from the reaction medium. This work presents measurements of solid-liquid equilibrium data for … Show more

“…Finally, AMX solubility variation was observed in vitro (constant pH) from 2.3 g to 1.7 g when temperature decreased from 25°C to 10°C. Given the fact that body temperature of patients undergoing general anesthesia decrease roughly from 0.5°C to 1.5°C, the impact of potential intraoperative hypothermia appears marginal (22,23). Overall, those known precipitating factors are not new and cannot explain the recent AICN increase.…”

“…The further negative Δ f 3 and a decrease in the slope may indicate the reorganization of molecules to minimize the energy and to free up more sites, as already described previously. 51 , 52 From the Δ f 3 values, the adsorption behavior of GLO onto Chi-77KS displays initial rapid adsorption, with a subsequent decline over an extended period. A similar behavior in the case of Δ f 3 is noticed for Chi-77KS/AMOX, but the dissipation showed the opposite trend, where it increased as the adsorption progressed.…”

“…At room temperature, amoxicillin has pK a1 = 2.74 and pK a2 = 6.98. At a high pH value, the hydrolysis of the amoxicillin is observed [26].…”
