Software for 3D radiotherapy dosimetry. Validation

Abstract: The subject of this work is polyGeVero(®) software (GeVero Co., Poland), which has been developed to fill the requirements of fast calculations of 3D dosimetry data with the emphasis on polymer gel dosimetry for radiotherapy. This software comprises four workspaces that have been prepared for: (i) calculating calibration curves and calibration equations, (ii) storing the calibration characteristics of the 3D dosimeters, (iii) calculating 3D dose distributions in irradiated 3D dosimeters, and (iv) comparing 3D … Show more

“…The gel dosimetry analysis slicelet not only provides a new gel dosimetry analysis tool, but also establishes a well laid out workflow that standardizes a typical 3D dosimetry measurement. In this publication, we describe the workflow of a typical gel dosimeter experiment and show the results of experiments to validate, step-wise, each component of the gel dosimetry analysis slicelet, in a similar manner used by Kozicki et al (2014) to validate the commercial software that they produced to analyze polymer gel dosimeter data.…”

“…All data obtained from MRI measurements for VIC and VIC-T calibration and verification phantoms were analysed with polyGeVero® software (GeVero Co., Poland) (for the software description, operation, and use see: [20,[55][56] and movies at polygevero.com). The dosimetric results for the polymer gel dosimeters were compared with those calculated with the TPS and 3DVH® software (ArcCHECK®).…”

“…The cross beam calibration irradiation was performed in analogy to that presented elsewhere (see Fig. 3 in [20]). In brief, twelve 3 × 3 cm 2 fields set at four gantry angles (0°, 90°, 180°and 270°) were applied at four monitor units (100, 200, 500 and 1000 MU) and were crossed to create eight regions of quasi-homogeneous areas of dose levels ranging from 2.379 to 31.097 Gy.…”
