Sodium polymer electrolytes composed of sulfonated polysulfone and macromolecular/molecular solvents for Na-batteries

Abstract: Polysulfone acidic ionomers have been extensively used as Fuel Cell membranes, mainly because of their mechanical, thermal, chemical and electrochemical stability as well as their excellent film-forming capability. This contribution deals with the development of blends based on polysulfone-sodium sulfonate and macromolecular/molecular solvents, consisting of poly(oxyethylene), POE, and propylene carbonate, PC, respectively. The objectives were to take advantage both of the thermomechanical performances and of … Show more

“…showing competitive conductivities. [53] Also, PEO-based PC/ NaClO 4 crosslinked quasi-solid state polymer electrolyte performed ionic conductivity of 1 mS cm −1 at 25 °C. [54] In addition, PEO-(BMIMTFSI) (10-40 wt%)-NaTFSI solid polymeric membranes were prepared, when the membrane contained 40 wt% of IL, ionic conductivity reached to ≈4.1 × 10 −4 S cm −1 .…”

“…[ 52 ] Cisneros developed a sodium polymer electrolytes consisting of PEO, NaClO 4 /PC, sulfonated polysulfone and macromolecular/molecular solvents, respectively, showing competitive conductivities. [ 53 ] Also, PEO‐based PC/NaClO 4 crosslinked quasi‐solid state polymer electrolyte performed ionic conductivity of 1 mS cm −1 at 25 °C. [ 54 ] In addition, PEO–(BMIMTFSI) (10–40 wt%)–NaTFSI solid polymeric membranes were prepared, when the membrane contained 40 wt% of IL, ionic conductivity reached to ≈4.1 × 10 −4 S cm −1 .…”

“…Over the past decade, storage of energy has happened to an arising global worry due to a growth of smart grid’s needs in inexpensive and sustainable energy storage, 1 in conjunction with extreme rises for the cost of fuels and environmental aftermaths of using them. This raised the call for substitute sources for the generation as well as storage of energy.…”
