The current study examines the impact of technological gadgets on the children's socialization in the context of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. A closed-ended self-structured questionnaire for data collection was designed and applied in the field. The data were analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Both Descriptive (percentages and frequencies) and Inferential (Correlation) statistics were applied. The finding of the study showed that children were more engaged with the usage of technological gadgets. A majority of the children has knowledge regarding technological gadgets and use for more than four hours on daily basis. On the other hand, parents were aware of both the positive and negative impacts of technological gadgets on their children's socialization. Interestingly, parents found a positive relationship between excessive use of technological gadgets and virtual socialization of children. Furthermore, usage of technology has limited children's activities inside the house, less active in community engagements and sometimes showing aggressive behavior on keeping them away from the technological gadgets. The study recommends that parents need to educate and supervise their children's activities and limit their access to technological gadgets in order to focus on physical socialization of their children so as to reduce negative effects of technological gadgets.

The literature on sustainable tourism is scant, particularly in the least developed countries. Very few studies touch upon the concept and no holistic theoretical or conceptual frameworks around the idea of sustainable tourism have been formulated. This study aims at exploring the role of tour operators in developing sustainable tourism in Pakistan and how the tour operators (TOs) conceive their role in this regard. TOs were reached through phone calls, emails, and virtual sources as face-to-face interviews were not possible due to COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions on travel by the government. In-depth interviews were conducted to gather data. Results suggest that the TOs although realize the importance of social, environmental, and economic dimensions of tourism on the communities but have no management systems in place to cater accordingly. There are no incentives in place by the government facilitate TOs to design and implement such systems. The TOs do not select a destination based on Global Sustainable Tourism Council criterion, but rather the selection of destination is mostly demand-based and profit-oriented. The study suggests that corporate profit motive is the sole criterion for decision making and is one of the major causes impeding sustainable tourism in Pakistan. The role of TOs in developing sustainable tourism is vague as the TOs do not have any systems in place to implement sustainable models. The study recommends that efforts need to be put in place to incentivize sustainable tourism in Pakistan and proper laws should be set forth by the authorities to comply by the TOs. The role of TOs is important and understood, however, there is a need to put proper systems in place.

This paper is very important historical study on the rural society in Pakistan. There have been numerous historical studies on rural societies in last seven decades but the studies that contain first hand direct information from the people living in the rural society are few. Such research papers are important to develop understandings of the changes and development in the rural society. Explaining the social issues and relations of people living in the villages of Punjab with each other for the understanding of the social structure a study is important. This paper shed light on the changes in social structure and interaction in Nauthen a village of Pakistani Punjab. There is relatively little documentation available that can be considered direct evidence from people living in the villages. Regional studies have a single purpose: they act as a check on assumptions made about a broader area, while also advancing our understanding of social processes and human nature in general. It is very important, that there is no village in Pakistan having old settlement that has not a rich legendary history of its own.
