Snoopy – A Unifying Petri Net Tool

Abstract: Abstract. The tool Snoopy provides a unifying Petri net framework which has particularly many application scenarios in systems and synthetic biology. The framework consists of two levels: uncoloured and coloured. Each level comprises a family of related Petri net classes, sharing structure, but being specialized by their kinetic information. Petri nets of all net classes within one level can be converted into each other, while changing the level involves user-guided folding or automatic unfolding. Models can be… Show more

“…However, the main formalism is different (SAN network) and there is no support for DTAs. The tool Snoopy [10] also provides a unified editor for GSPN models, with support for hierarchical composition and multiple solvers, but does not support DTAs. The editor Coloane [7] supports both Petri net and Timed Automata, but (at the time of writing) is not focused on stochastic models.…”

“…We illustrate how to build corresponding Petri net models and discuss what we can obtain by applying some Petri net analysis techniques. We use the tools Snoopy [14], Charlie [15] and 4ti2 [1] for editing and analysing the Petri net models.…”

“…The University of Cottbus has developed a suite of tools for the analysis of qualitative and stochastic properties of Petri nets which shares many of the objectives of GreatSPN3.0. Snoopy [25] is a java-based graphical interface which includes token animation. Marcie [26] is a set of analysis algorithms for various forms of stochastic Petri nets.…”
