A New GreatSPN GUI for GSPN Editing and CSLTA Model Checking

Abstract: Abstract. This tool demonstration paper describes a new Graphical User Interface for the interactive modeling and verification of GSPN systems with the stochastic logic CSL TA . The GUI provides a modern and fully-featured environment designed around a complete modeling workflow: The user designs a GSPN model, a DTA (automaton describing properties for the CSL TA logic), and can simulate the GSPN behavior and the model checking process with an interactive simulation (a sort of "joint token game"). The tool the… Show more

“…GreatSPN [3] is an open source framework 3 for modeling and analyzing Petri nets, which includes several tools accessible either through a common graphical interface [2], with a mode of interaction that was recently re-designed to support teaching [5], or through in-line commands for expert users. With GreatSPN the user can draw Petri nets (place/transition nets, colored nets and their stochastic variations) interactively, can compute (and visualize) the RG explicitly or symbolically, can analyze net properties (both qualitative and stochastic), can solve stochastic and Ordinary differential equations/Stochastic differential equations (ODE/SDE) systems, and can model-check CTL logic properties as well as performing stochastic model checking for properties defined using automata (the CSL TA logic), and other advanced features.…”

“…GreatSPN-meddly is a symbolic model checker that is part of the GreatSPN framework [3]. The main purpose of this tool consists in building the state space of a Petri net model using Decision Diagrams (DD), in order to verify reachability and CTL properties.…”

“…We show that already three DFT aspects distinguish them all: failure propagation, forwarding in functional dependencies, and non-determinism, see the last three rows in Table 1. Mature tool-support for GSPNs such as SHARPE [20], SMART [21], GreatSPN [22] and its editor [23] can be exploited for all covered DFT semantics. Thirdly, our compositional approach, with simple GPSNs for each DFT gate, is easy to extend with more gates.…”

“…We realised the GSPN translation of DFTs within the model checker Storm [19], version 1.2.1 3 . Storm can export the obtained GSPNs as, among others, Great-SPN Editor projects [23]. Table 3 gives some indications of the obtained sizes of the GSPNs for some DFT benchmarks from [13].…”
