Amputation of patients with diabetic foot is a major issue worldwide, particularly from a medical and economic standpoint. This meta-analysis aimed to identify significant risk factors of high amputation rate among epidemiologic and patient behavior-related predictors in diabetic patients. A systematic literature review and meta-analysis were performed using MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases. Seven variables were extracted from the included studies and evaluated based on amputation rate. The Newcastle-Ottawa scale was used to assess the quality of the studies. The search strategy identified 101 publications. After screening, 33 articles were selected for review. Male sex and smoking were identified as significant risk factors of high amputation rate of diabetic foot. Although further investigation of long-term and randomized controlled studies is needed, we identified 2 variables as significant risk factors for high amputation rate in diabetic patients in this meta-analysis.

В статье представлен анализ данных литературы о влиянии курения и отказа от курения на эффективность операции коронарного шунтирования и продол-жительности жизни больных. В большинстве научных работ приводятся дан-ные об увеличении, как летальности, так и числа осложнений у курящих паци-ентов. В мета-анализе 564 работ по исследованию влияния курения на исходы операции коронарного шунтирования продемонстрированы убедительные доказательства необходимости прекращения курения. 10, 20 и 30-летние наблюдения после операций коронарного шунтирования демонстрируют пре-имущества отказа от курения для увеличения продолжительности жизни боль-ных ишемической болезни сердца. Мета-анализ эффективности различных лекарственных препаратов и методов помощи в отказе от курения у больных сердечно-сосудистыми заболеваниями был проведен в 2017г и показал эффективность лекарственной терапии. Среди препаратов для лечения нико-тиновой зависимости у больных пациентов с сердечно-сосудистыми заболе-ваниями наибольшей эффективностью обладает варениклин, который под-твердил и свою безопасность у пациентов как с хроническими стабильными заболеваниями сердечно-сосудистой системы, так и у пациентов с острым коронарным синдромом. Для преодоления психологической компоненты зависимости целесообразно проведение когнитивно-поведенческой терапии, которая может быть осуществлена специалистами Консультативного теле-фонного центра помощи в отказе от потребления табака, организованного Министерством здравоохранения Российской Федерации. In the article, the analysis provided, of the literary data on smoking and smoking cessation influence on coronary bypass surgery efficacy and life duration of the patients. Most scientific articles provide data on the increase of both the mortality and complications number in smokers. Meta-analysis of 564 works on the influence of smoking on coronary bypass outcomes, convincing evidence was provided on the necessity to quit smoking. Ten, 20-and 30-year lasting observations post coronary bypass surgery demonstrate the benefits of smoking cessation for life duration increase in coronary heart disease. Meta-analysis of the various approaches efficacy in cardiovascular patients has been done in 2017 and shows the efficacy of medication therapy. Among the drugs for nicotin addiction treatment in cardiovascular patients, the most effective is varenicline, with confirmed safety in chronic stable cardiovascular disorders patients, as in acute coronary heart disease patients. To overcome the psychological component of the addiction it is worthy to conduct cognitive-behavioral therapy that can be done by the specialists of Call Center for smoking cessation organized by the Ministry of Health of Russian Federation.

Introduction: Tobacco use is a major public health problem, a cause of premature and preventable morbidity and mortality, which often begins in adolescence. Objective: To analyze the prevalence and associated factors related to tobacco consumption among secondary, high school and university students of Cáceres (Spain). Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of secondary, high school and university students from the city of Cáceres, over 14 years old. Sociodemographic and consumption data and factors related to tobacco were collected. For the bivariate analysis Chi square was used for the qualitative variable. Results: 209 students have participated. The prevalence of tobacco consumption was usually 27.8%, 27.8% occasional and 44.5% were not consumers. The female gender with 30.6% and 20-24 years, those that contain the highest proportion of smokers. The factors related to starting smoking were other reasons (44%), tendency (16.4%) and relaxation (18.1%), which shows statistically significant differences (p<0.005). Almost all smokers, whether habitual or casual, have thought about stopping smoking (47.4%) or maybe they could try it (37.1%). Conclusion: The rate of tobacco users is high among students. This suggests the need to implement health education programs to prevent and reduce the rate of tobacco use since adolescence, to prevent them from adopting or maintaining this habit in adulthood, since a high percentage of smokers have thought in quitting smoking.
