Urban agriculture is constrained by the increasingly unstoppable level of urbanization which has an impact on the agricultural land in urban areas reduction. This kind of problem need to find alternative solutions, they are; integrating urban agriculture with the environment, partnership activities, e.g., with universities and sustainable diversification. The purpose of this article is to explore urban agriculture: a case study of mushroom and freshwater fish cultivation in West Surabaya. The writing of this article includes case studies related to oyster mushroom cultivation, inland waters and their diversification. Data collection methods include intensive documentation and interviews with farmers, city governments, partnerships and consumer organizations. The data collected was analyzed by matching the data with urban agricultural scheme as a literature study result. The results obtained show that there are partnerships with universities as evidenced by the existence of Community Service Program activities carried out together with urban farmers. And also the sustainability of processed fish and mushroom diversification. However, it is necessary to have a processed diversification training program as well as bringing together prospective consumers more intensively, and alternative waste handling that is safe for the environment.

The idea of "smart villages" doesn't mean that all villages have the same solution. The goal of this study has two-step plan for a "smart village". First is making a model of a smart village based on a review of the literature. Second, verification of the proposed model by interviewing the respondent. In accordance with the proposed model, exploration is conducted at the stage of verification using open-ended questions. As a result of verification, each indicator receives an additional form of explanatory indicators that are matched to the case study's conditions. This is qualitative research with multiple units of analysis based on a single case study. The case study is Banyuwangi Regency. The units of analysis are Kampung Anyar Village, Kaligondo Village, Wringinrejo Village, Tambong Village, and the Department of Community and Village Empowerment. This villages that have won the smart village competition from 2016 to 2019 in Banyuwangi. The result model consists of 6 domains, 17 aspects, and 55 indicators. The domain is governance, basic village services, village resources, the economy, infrastrucutre, and tourism. All domains, aspects, and indicators can be implemented in smart village development by making technology an enabler, and there are sustainable elements.

Desa pintar saat ini menjadi salah satu alternatif pembangunan desa yang berpotensi mengatasi permasalahan desa. Sebagian besar makalah penelitian tentang desa pintar membahas implementasi TIK di desa sedangkan fungsi utamanya hanya sebagai enabler. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisi gap tersebut dengan mengajukan model konseptual smart village. Model konseptual dibangun hasil dari tinjauan pustaka pada jurnal yang berkualitas. Jurnal yang dipilih yaitu Google Scholar, Emerald Insight, Elsevier dan IEEE explore dengan kata kunci “smart village”,”smart rural” dan “sustainable village”. Berdasarkan hasil pencarian pada jurnal ditemukan 1703 artikel penelitian terkait smart village. Kemudian dari 1703 artikel yang terpilih, 146 artikel diterima berdasarkan hasil membaca judul dan abstrak. Kemudian 146 artikel dianalisis dengan seksama dan menemukan 43 artikel yang berkaitan dengan topik pada penelitian ini ditinjau dari tujuan, Dimensi dan juga indikatornya. Hasil temuan terdapat 8 bidang utama dalam membangun smart village meliputi: Tata kelola pemerintah, Ekonomi desa, Lingkungan desa, Sumber daya energi, Sumber daya manusia, TIK, Petani desa dan Pariwisata. Penemuan ini memperkaya eksplorasi teoritis smart village.
