Smart hospital emergency system

Abstract: In recent years, the UK's emergency call and response has shown elements of great strain as of today. The strain on emergency call systems estimated by a 9 million calls (including both landline and mobile) made in 2014 alone. Coupled with an increasing population and cuts in government funding, this has resulted in lower percentages of emergency response vehicles at hand and longer response times. In this paper, we highlight the main challenges of emergency services and overview of previous solutions. In addi… Show more

“…In this paper, the intelligent service system can be interconnected with the Internet of Things (IoT), linking service recipients and providers, and at the same time realizing the integration with intelligent functional modules for elderly people at home through modern technologies such as Internet technology and cloud computing. The operation mode is to input the demand of the service recipient (elderly homebound) into the application software of the mobile device, convert it into data, transfer it to the data centre through the Internet connection device, intelligently push the demand information to the corresponding service function module after data processing in the background, and then deliver the demand information to the service provider to realize the service connection between the demand of the service recipient and the service provider [ 21 ]. Based on the community management model, community security content such as environmental monitoring and community access control can be integrated into the intelligent service system, and at the same time, the functions of each module of the service system can be connected to each elderly user in the community, and the data and information such as heart rate, blood oxygen, and geographic location data of the elderly at home can be collected and organized by mobile devices, and the service system can intelligently make decisions and provide directional services for the elderly.…”

“…The security of smart ambulances and their infrastructure is mandatory due to the high threats to IoT systems in general and to healthcare systems in particular [8][9][10][11]. The smart ambulance system is an essential service and has in its possession valuable information associated with patients and data associated with hospital operations and emergency transporter management.…”

“…Smart ambulances have been proposed to improve the performance of ambulances [6][7][8]. They use technologies such as IoT, real-time data communication and video streaming, connected vehicles, road traffic monitoring, big data, biomedical sensing, and body area networks to improve the emergency service and minimize response time and provide medical support with the least possible delay [9,10].…”
