As concept maps are useful for knowledge organization, representation and sharing, people used to draw concept maps by pen in their daily life. And some concept maps are closely related to physical world. In this paper, we propose a kind of context-aware handdrawn concept map with RFID tags, which is especially useful for pen-based mobile devices. First, the structure of the hand-drawn concept map is extracted. And then users can assign RFID tags to concept nodes. With the RFID labeled concept nodes, concept maps are linked to the physical world, which can facilitate users' understanding and retrieval of hand-drawn concept maps.

Pen and paper support the rapid production of sketches. However, the paper interface is not always optimal for collaborative sketching as seen in brainstorming sessions where multiple parties would often like to communicate and participate in the sketching synchronously. Novel interactive paper solutions may provide the answer by bridging the paperdigital divide and allowing users to sketch on paper simultaneously while capturing the actions digitally. We present an analysis of collaborative sketching activities in working environments with remote participation. After highlighting the importance of paper for natural interaction in these settings, we introduce PaperSketch, an interactive paper-digital tool for collaborative remote sketching. We discuss the collaborative development of ideas based on the prototype and outline how important feedback issues have been addressed by utilising spatial constraints and multimodal features.

Current Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) such as Pocket PCs provide little support for sketching. This is due, no doubt, to the limited screen size and relatively poor resolution of these devices. To support sketching on these devices, we describe a Focus+Context technique using fisheye views integrated into a sketching application on Pocket PCs. Our technique creates a distorted display view of a canvas that is larger than a Pocket PC screen. Users draw in a high resolution focus area that is smoothly embedded into the distorted context. We have conducted a modest user trial that validates user preference for this drawing technique over a traditional scroll-bar based interface.
