Site Barrier Optimization on Integrating Thermal Comfort With Noise Propagation Control

Abstract: The difference in geographical altitudes in tropical environment not only causes variations in climate and environment leading to influences on thermal comfort, but also effects on noise propagation variation. This study proposes the site barrier optimization and integrated control on thermal performance and environmental noise to reach the standards using ANSYS Fluent and MATLAB simulations method. The research locations are in Surabaya as the lowland area and Malang as highland area, all are representatives … Show more

“…Tetapi, akibat adanya pendinginan pasif menyebabkan konskuensi bising yan g masuk. Bukaan pada dinding tropis memang berpengaruh terhadap pendinginan pasif, lalu di sisi lain juga akan memasukkan bising yang searah dengan vektor angin [5]. Tetapi itu bukan menjadi masalah.…”

“…This results in a high probability of getting high noise because the balcony seems to create a hole that can capture noise and lack of noise barriers. Samodra [5] states that site barriers as noise reduction can reduce noise by up to 25 dB. Still, we cannot use the barrier site in an apartment because the traffic noise will go directly to the balcony.…”
