The synthesis of calixarenes can be conventionally done by heating at high temperature for a few hours and using various solvents in large quantities. The greener synthesis can be done with microwave-assisted synthesis and the solvent-free method, where both of these methods can reduce reaction time, energy use, solvent, and waste, with a higher percentage yield than that from the conventional synthesis method, making the synthesis of cyclic oligomer calixarenes and their derivatives more environmentally friendly.

Rapid population growth causes many the environmental problems. One of them is the pollution of methanil yellow in the water. One of the effective methods in controlling water pollution caused by dyes is the adsorption method with a batch system. C-Cinnamal Calix [4] Resorsinarene (CCCR) compound is a compound synthesized from cinnamon oil waste that has great potential to be developed as adsorbent for dangerous dyes. The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum absorption capacity of CCCR towards methanil yellow using optimum conditions parameters (concentration and contact time). Absorption of methanil yellow in solution by C-Cinnamal Calix [4] resorcinarene (CCCR) compounds is carried out at the optimum pH of 3 with concentration variations of 20, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mg/L. The amount of methanil yellow reaches an absorption capacity of 1.83 mg/g at a concentration of 150 mg/L, while for the contact time is carried out at the optimum pH and concentration with variations in contact time of 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, and 180 minutes. The Results show that the optimum contact time was 150 minutes with an absorption capacity of 2.1375 mg/g.

Uncontrolled handling of industrial waste disposal systems causes pollution to the environment by hazardous materials such as dyes. Activities that cause the excessive discharge of dyes come from the textile, paper, pigment and paint industries. This industrial activity releases dyestuffs that enter through the food chain so that it has a bad impact on human health. One of the alternative methods used in tackling dye waste pollution is adsorption. Organic compounds that have great potential to be used as adsorbents to absorb dyes are C-Sinamalkaliks [4] Resorsinarene (CSKR). This study uses CSKR to absorb dye which aims to determine the potential of C-SinamalKaliks [4] Resorsinarene (CSKR) which is an adsorbent for the absorption of the dye methanyl yellow. This research was conducted using a batch method with various treatments of stirring speed and contact time. The results showed that the optimum absorption of metanyl yellow against CSKR was at the contact time of 150 minutes and the stirring speed of 100 rpm with an absorption capacity of 2.13 mg/g.
