Sinking Feed Efficiency in Growth Performance, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) and Yield of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) at Different Stocking Densities

Abstract: The efficiency of feed is considered as one of the most crucial factors that affects the growth performance, feed conversion ratio and yield as well. The study was aimed to compare the growth parameters of tilapia at different stocking densities to detect the efficiency of sinking feed assessing the growth trends at various sampling stages. To evaluate the comparative yield, the study was carried out in twelve concrete tanks under an outdoor laboratory shed. Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fry was released at … Show more

“…L. rohita is frequently cultivated in ponds, often in polyculture with other species such as catfish and carp, as part of integrated farming systems aimed at maximizing resource efficiency. In aquaculture, the fish is provided with a well-balanced diet comprising both plant and animal proteins to promote optimal growth (Rahman & Arifuzzaman, 2021). The flesh of L. rohita holds great esteem in South Asian culinary traditions, greatly enhancing its market desirability.…”

“…Aquaculture is experiencing rapid growth as a sector for producing animal-based food, especially in developing countries such as Bangladesh. Its production plays a crucial role in supporting livelihoods, creating employment opportunities, and meeting the increasing global demand for protein supply, food security, and income generation (Haque et al 2016;Rahman and Islam, 2021). Aquaculture enterprise is very potential in terms of protein rich food production, food security and livelihood generation for the increasing number of people throughout the world especially for the developing countries like Bangladesh.…”
