“…4-Bromo-4‘- n -pentylbiphenyl, 1-bromo-4-( trans -4‘- n -pentylcyclohexyl)benzene, and p -ethoxyphenylacetylene ( P 1 ) were supplied by Merck. 9,10- Bis(phenylethynyl)anthracene, trimethylsilylacetylene, dichlorobis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II), copper(I) iodide, tetrabutylammonium fluoride hydrate, 9,10-dibromoanthracene, dry toluene, and dry diisopropylamine were purchased from Aldrich and used without further purification; n -decyl p -bromobenzoate was prepared from p -bromobenzoic acid and n -decanol (Aldrich) as described in the literature . All reactions were carried out under an argon atmosphere using Schlenk techniques and dry solvents.…”

“…We also directly observed hierarchical chiral structures, ranging from primary to quaternary, and demonstrated the existence of a quaternary structure consisting of a π‐electronic system capable of performing optical and electronic functions. We have also reported previously on dynamic photoluminescence of single molecules in π‐conjugated polymers using thermal energy at room temperature in a solution 12–14…”

“…We have also reported previously on dynamic photoluminescence of single molecules in -conjugated polymers us-ing thermal energy at room temperature in a solution. [12][13][14] We discovered in this study that single molecules in a chiral helical -conjugated polymer formed a unique nanostructure on the surface of a mica substrate. In this paper, we discuss the diversity of single-molecule structures in a chiral helical -conjugated polymer.…”
