Single Layer, Differentially Driven, LHCP Antenna With Improved Isolation for Full Duplex Wireless Applications

Abstract: This paper presents a unidirectional, left handed circularly polarized (LHCP), single layered antenna array with improved interport isolation for simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) or in-band full duplex (IBFD) wireless applications. The proposed IBFD antenna is comprised of three identical and sequentially rotated LHCP radiating elements where two R x patches are symmetrically placed with respect to a single T x patch. The symmetry of proposed antenna structure results in same amount of coupling or self… Show more

“…As shown in Figures 9a,b, the cancellation can be achieved by placing two TX antennas at the distance of D and D + λ/2 away from the RX antenna, or by feeding two TX antennas with 180° phase difference at the same distance away from the RX antenna [55,56]. As illustrated in Figure 9c, one can also acquire near-field cancellation by circularly arranging several TX antennas around a RX antenna and exciting the circular TX antenna array with gradient phases [13,15,[57][58][59][60][61].…”
