Single field inflationary models with non-compact Kaluza–Klein theory

Abstract: We discuss a semiclassical treatment to inflationary models from Kaluza-Klein theory without the cylinder condition. We conclude that the evolution of the early universe could be described by a geodesic trayectory of a cosmological 5D metric here proposed, so that the effective 4D FRW background metric should be a hypersurface on a constant fifth dimension. *

“…Because of this theorem one can say that every solution of the 4D Einstein equations with arbitrary energymomentum tensor can be embedded, at least locally, in a solution of the 5D Einstein field equations in a relativistic vacuum: G AB = 0. For this reason the stress-energy may be a 4D manifestation of the embedding geometry and therefore, by making a static foliation on the space-like extra coordinate of an extended 5D de Sitter space-time, it is possible to obtain an effective 4D universe that suffered an exponential accelerated expansion driven by an effective scalar field with an equation of state typically dominated by vacuum [5][6][7][8]. In this work we shall consider a new kind of 5D Ricci-flat static canonical metric…”

“…A more detailed explanation can be found in [28]. This space will be a 5D extension of a 4D de Sitter spacetime, which is very relevant to inflationary cosmology, and is given by a 5D (canonical Riemann-flat) metric with a line element [29] …”
