“…Additionally, the cationic unit of tPt-Zn4PyP could be crystallized as the tetraphenylborate salt using the under-oil technique (see experimental part) and was studied by X-ray analysis (Figure 2). We are particularly pleased to obtain this structure, as this structure is the first example of expanding our robotic, aqueous crystallization trials [14][15]23 towards organic solvents. The zinc metal center is in a square pyramidal geometry with one DMF molecule as the fifth ligand.…”

“…The technique utilizes an automated robotic dispenser for crystallization solution preparations with roughly ∼1 mg of analyte compound dissolved in a minimum buffer volume (∼100 μL) and predetermined 96−192 different crystallization reagent settings. Although regarded as a common practice for biochemical-oriented research, the feasibility of the method for inorganic coordination compound crystal growth was only recently illustrated by Springler et al 51 Their experience with the technique has led to the development of a widely available commercial crystallization screen that was also used for this study. 0.3 μL droplets of freshly prepared 20 mg/mL solution of U IV DOTAM in H 2 O were automatically dispensed in a 2-well MRC-2 96-well crystallization plate (SWISSCI) with a 1.5 M NaCl solution reservoir using the Formulatrix NT8 Drop Setter.…”

“…The micrographs presented the formation of crystals as the solution gradually reached supersaturation. Micrographs obtained using PTFE-20 (Figure 2A) presented needle-like orthorhombic crystals with possible elongation at higher process duration (t = 4 h) (Alvarez et al, 2020). Based on the microscopic image, the number of crystals forming increased linearly with time (Figures 2B,2).…”
