Simultaneous ultraviolet-visible (UVVIS) spectrophotometric quantitative determination of Pb, Hg, Cd, As and Ni ions in aqueous solutions using cyanidin as a chromogenic reagent

Abstract: The use of cyanidin (3, 3 1 4 1 5, 7pentahydroxyflavylium chloride) extracted from a tropical plant Hibiscus sabradiffa L. as a chelating reagent for simultaneous spectrophotometric determinations of ions of Pb, Hg, Cd, As and Ni in mixed aqueous solution is reported. The purified extract of the dried calyces of the Roselle plant was characterized and the results compared with literature values. Complexation of the metals ions with cyanidin and scanning through 200-700 nm in a UV -VIS spectrophotometer gave th… Show more

“…Penelitian analisis logam dengan menggunakan zat warna alam sebagai pengompleks telah dilakukan pada analisis logam yang terdapat di dalam ikan dengan menggunakan sianidin yang diperoleh dari buah Gmelina arborea sebagai senyawa bahan alam pembentuk kompleks (Ike et al, 2019) dan analisis berbagai logam Pb, Hg, Cd, As, dan Ni dengan sianidin (Okoye et al, 2013).…”

“…The determination of Pb(II), Cu(II) and Ni(II) [16,17] has aroused interest among researches, since these cations are present simultaneously in a wide range of real samples. It has been undertaken with a number of different tech and on very varied matrices, by means of ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) and GFAAS (Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry) in edible oils [18] and in alloys by means of ETAAS (Electrothermal Atomic Absorption Spectrometry) [19].…”
