Simultaneous Determination of Oleanolic Acid and Ursolic Acid by in Vivo Microdialysis via UHPLC-MS/MS Using Magnetic Dispersive Solid Phase Extraction Coupling with Microwave-Assisted Derivatization and Its Application to a Pharmacokinetic Study of Arctiumlappa L. Root Extract in Rats

Abstract: Simultaneous detection of oleanolic acid and ursolic acid in rat blood by in vivo microdialysis can provide important pharmacokinetics information. Microwave-assisted derivatization coupled with magnetic dispersive solid phase extraction was established for the determination of oleanolic acid and ursolic acid by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. 2'-Carbonyl-piperazine rhodamine B was first designed and synthesized as the derivatization reagent, which was easily adsorbed onto the surface of FeO/gr… Show more

“…Platanic acid was isolated primarily from Syzygium claviflorum leaves that exhibit anti-HIV activity, with studies of its derivatives suggesting antitumoral activity [30][31][32]. We observed that the G3 sub-network contains a [26]. Both acids are used in Chinese medicine as hepatoprotectives, with oleanolic acid also possessing anti-tumor activity [27,28], and ursolic acid possessing anti-HIV, anti-inflammatory, antiulcer, hypolipidemic, and antiatherosclerotic activities [29].…”

“…Currently, studies related to drug–drug interactions mainly concentrate on chemical variations and conversions. Limited attention is given to PK study, which could accurately illustrate the actual biological activity of related ingredients 12 . Thus, a strategy should be developed for the PK study of active ingredients in DZXW and its single herbs simultaneously.…”

“…Among many techniques, solid-phase extraction (SPE) is considered one of the most effective techniques for coextraction due to its convenience, robustness, and rapidity. Therefore, SPE was used here for the analysis of tea samples [14,15].…”
