Neste trabalho descreve-se a determinação do ácido acetilsalicílico (ASA) em formulações farmacêuticas empregando voltametria de onda quadrada (SWV) e um eletrodo de diamante dopado com boro (BDD). Neste método, ASA é determinado diretamente em solução de H 2 SO 4 0,01 mol L -1 , sem a necessidade da hidrólise alcalina. Foi obtido um único pico de oxidação no potencial de 1,97 V vs. Ag/AgCl (KCl 3,0 mol L -1 ) com características de uma reação irreversível. A curva analítica obtida é linear na faixa de concentração ASA de 2,50 × 10 -6 -1,05 × 10 -4 mol L -1 , com um limite de detecção de 2,0 µmol L -1 . O desvio padrão relativo foi menor que 1,4% para uma solução de ASA 45 µmol L -1 (n = 10). O método proposto foi aplicado com sucesso para a determinação de ASA em várias formulações farmacêuticas e os resultados obtidos foram concordantes com um método oficial da Farmacopéia Britânica, a um nível de confiança de 95%.In this paper the determination of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) in pharmaceutical formulations using square-wave voltammetry (SWV) and a boron-doped diamond electrode (BDD) is described. By this proposed method, ASA is directly determined in a 0.01 mol L -1 H 2 SO 4 solution without the need of a previous time-consuming alkaline hydrolysis step. A single oxidation peak at a potential of 1.97 V vs. Ag/AgCl (3.0 mol L -1 KCl) with the characteristics of an irreversible reaction was obtained. The obtained analytical curve is linear in the ASA concentration range 2.50 × 10 -6 -1.05 × 10 -4 mol L -1 , with a detection limit of 2.0 µmol L -1 . The obtained relative standard deviation was smaller than 1.4% for a 45 µmol L -1 ASA solution (n = 10). The proposed method was applied with success in the determination of ASA in several pharmaceutical formulations; the obtained results were in close agreement, at a 95% confidence level, with those obtained using an official method of the British Pharmacopoeia.Keywords: acetylsalicylic acid determination, boron-doped diamond electrode, square-wave voltammetry, pharmaceutical formulations IntroductionAcetylsalicylic acid (ASA), shown in Figure 1, more popularly known as aspirin, is one of the oldest medicines that still plays an important role in modern therapeutics. A new sensitive colorimetric method for determination of aspirin tablet in aqueous solution. The method is depending on the formation of a yellow colored azo dye by diazotization of 2, 4-dichloroaniline followed by azo-coupling reaction between the resulting product and acetylsalicylic acid. The lambda max of azo dye at 527nm. Beer's low was found to be obeyed in the concentration range of 2-25µg/mL with rang of molar absorptivity between (2935) Lmol -1 cm -1 .Aspirin tablet from different sources industrial companies (SDI, NDI) using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with reversed-phase (ODS-C18) column at low wave length of Uv-visible detection (280nm).the acetylsalicylic acid was eluted for 5 minute at flow rate 2ml/min. The retention time of acetylsalicylic acid was observed at 4.11 minutes. The concentration of the different above companies were gave good relationship between area under the peak (AUP) and acetylsalicylic acid content (p1> 0.001). The comparing of the all values of aspirin tablets in (SDI, NDI) between the above methods were evaluated a good accuracy while the new colorimetric spectrophotometric method for the determination of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) in pharmaceutical formulations developed procedure was successfully applied to the rapid determination of acetylsalicylic acid in commercial pharmaceutical preparations. The unique features of this procedure are that determination can be carried out at room temperature and analysis time is short. The newly developed method is simple, inexpensive and efficient for use in the analysis of a large number of samples.

A simple, sensitive, specific, and cost effective method for simultaneous determination of Aspirin and Rosuvastatin calcium was developed and validated in single dosage formulation. The sample solution of ASP and RSTC was prepared using methanol as a solvent. Separation of ASP and RSTC was achieved with a mobile phase consisting of 20 mM KH 2 PO 4 : Methanol (30:70 v/v) at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min. Separations were performed on Merck hibar 250-4.6 RP18 (5 µm) column (150 mm X 3.0 mm), using a Shimadzu Prominence HPLC system equipped with a Shimadzu SPD-20A detector, Rhenodyne 7725i injector with 20 μL loop, LC-20 AD pump, CBM-20 Alite controller and LC Solution software. Retention times of ASP and RSTC were 3.747 and 5.969 minutes respectively. Absolute recovery of ASP and RSTC was 100.3 and 100.03 % respectively. The lower limit of quantification (LLOQ) of ASP and RSTC was 0.3097 and 0.1063 ppm and lower limit of detection (LLOD) of ASP and RSTC was 0.01535 and 0.01358 ppm respectively. Linearity was established for the range of concentrations 15.00-90.0 μg/ml and 2.0-12.0 μg/ml for ASP and RSTC respectively with the coefficient of determination (R 2 ) of 0.994 and 0.999 for both the compounds. The inter-and intra-day precision in the measurement of ASP quality control (QC) sample 75 μg/ml, were in the range 0.1-0.2 % relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) and 0.2-0.3 % R.S.D., respectively. The inter-and intra-day precision in the measurement of RST quality control (QC) sample 10 μg/ml, were in the range 0.1-0.2 % R.S.D., and 0.0-0.3 % R.S.D., respectively. The developed method would be applicable for routine quality control of ASP And RSTC in bulk as well as in pharmaceutical formulations.
