“…28 While SO 2 concentration rose from 500 to 2000 ppm, NO x removal efficiency gradually declined. This happened because SO 2 molecules could compete for active sites (Fe, Cu, and oxygen vacancies) with H 2 O 2 and NO (eqs 11−13), 29,30 which resulted in the reduction of •OH concentration for NO x removal. Thus, the optimal concentration of SO 2 was 500 ppm for 1% Cu−1% Fe/TiO 2 .…”

“…The reasons could be explained as follows: SO 2 entered the liquid phase and was quickly dissolved into the water to form HSO 3 − and SO 3 2− (Colle et al, 2004(Colle et al, , 2005, both of which reacted with NO, NO 2 , NO 2 − and NO 3 − to promote the oxidation and absorption of NO (Takeuchi et al, 1977;Weisweiler and Blumhqfer, 1984). Moreover, HSO 3 − and SO 3 2− could also combine with NO to form (ONSO 3 ) 2− , which further improved the absorption of NO (Littlejohn, 1986).…”

“…Antes da injeção nos cultivos, foi realizada a dessulfurização do gás de combustão, de acordo com o método proposto por Colle et al (2005). A corrente gasosa foi injetada em uma coluna de H 2 O 2 (10% v/v), a fim de remover o SO 2 presente no gás de combustão.…”
