Simulation and Development of Instrumental Setup to Be Used for Cement Grouting of Sand Soil

Abstract: Most of Arab countries areas are occupied with deserts that is covered with sandy soil. Thus, it is necessary to make use of this huge volume of sand to be as construction materials. It is proven that, sand is initially uneven and unstable. It requires pre-modifications of its primer properties in order to be used as construction materials. One of the common techniques is injecting the sand with binders. Many grouting techniques has been implanted to modify or rehabilitate the structure of soil but for sandy s… Show more

“…Many efforts were applied toward developing high performance concrete for the building structures with enhanced performance and safety [4]. Geopolymers are the product of alkali activated aluminosilicate sources that excelled as an alternative to ordinary binders due to its sustainability, low cost and good mechanical properties [2].…”

“…The use of SCMs such as fly ash, metakaolin, and rice husk ash, copper slag, ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), marble powder etc., makes it affordable for the construction industry due to reduced cost. Addition of these SCMs are also found to be advantageous in the cement based grouting application [5][6][7].…”

“…Few quantitative studies were undertaken regarding the erosion pattern as well as the maximum distance of the scour hole from the structures [20]. More recently, Zhang et al [21], and Movahedi et al [22] established an expression to predict the sediment scour depth using Flow3D or Fluent, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software [23][24][25][26][27] .…”
