Simulation analysis of performance optimization of gas-driven ammonia-water absorption heat pump

Abstract: Exchange (GAX) ammonia water absorption heat pump has a relatively high efficiency and the COP is improved by recovering internal heat. In order to resolve the problem that GAX effect becomes less obvious or even fails under the working condition of large temperature lift, a novel system is proposed to recover the rectification heat and absorption heat by solution split method. Compared with the method of using total strong solution to recover absorption heat after extracting rectification heat, the method of … Show more

“…To drive this process, a low temperature heat source is necessary at the generator [6][7][8][9]. The absorption refrigeration cycle is gaining considerable attention because it can make fair use of low grade waste heat for cooling demand and employ eco-friendly refrigerant [10,11]. It is evident THERMAL SCIENCE: Year 2022, Vol.…”

“…One of the essential heat exchangers in the absorption chiller is the generator in which the pool boiling of the lithium bromide/water solution occurs [1,2]. Therefore, improving the heat transfer in this heat exchanger increases energy efficiency and improves the chiller's coefficient of performance (COP) [3,4]. The boiling phenomena locally have both vapor and liquid phases [5,6].…”
