Electrochemical properties of linezolid, an antibiotic drug, using unmodified renewable pencil graphite and carbon paste electrodes, were investigated from pH 2 to 10 in Britton-Robinson buffer solution. Experimental studies were examined by square-wave (SW) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). Firstly, parameters affecting the performance of both electrode, such as electrode activation, support electrolyte selection, pH effect, interval of potentials, scan rates and voltammetric method parameters were investigated in detail by using square wave voltammetry. Linezolid was not reversibly oxidized in supporting electrolytes solutions, yielding well-defined peaks in the oxidation potential interval. Using the pencil graphite electrode (PGE), a linearity range between peak current and concentration was obtained between 0.01 and 0.2 μg mL À 1 (2.96 × 10 À 8 -5.93 × 10 À 7 M), other one, at carbon paste electrode (CPE), a linearity range between 0.1 and 7.5 μg mL À 1 (2.96 × 10 À 7 -2.22 × 10 À 5 M) was obtained by SWV. The selectivity, sensitivity, precision, and other validation parameters of the developed voltammetric method was evaluated. Lastly, the concentration of linezolid was examined in pharmaceutical and biological samples with standard addition technique.

In this work, an automated flow injection analysis (FIA) connected to a boron-doped diamond electrode (BDDE) was originally developed for the analysis of methimazole in pharmaceutical preparations. At a modification-free BDDE, methimazole was easilly oxidized. For the analysis of the mechanisms occurring at the electrode surface, cyclic voltammetry was employed to evaluate the impact of fundamental experimental parameters, such as pH and scan rate, on the BDDE response. For the quantitative detection, the FIA amperometric approach was constructed and used as a fast and sensitive method. The suggested approach provided a broad linear range of 0.5–50 µmol/L and a low detection limit of 10 nmol/L (signal-to-noise ratio = 3). Furthermore, the BDDE was successfully utilized to quantify methimazole in genuine samples from a variety of medicines, and its performance remained steady after more than 50 tests. The findings of amperometric measurements exhibit excellent repeatability, with relative standard deviations of less than 3.9 and 4.7 % for intra-day and inter-day, respectively. The findings indicated that, compared with traditional approaches, the suggested method has the following advantages: quick analysis time, simplicity, highly sensitive output, and no need for complicated operational processes.

Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is a drug indicated in rheumatology for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus for its anti‐inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties. Many countries such as Morocco have recommended the use of HCQ for the treatment of COVID‐19 infection. This medication is responsible for severe acute poisoning. Therefore, Hospital laboratories have a fundamental role in affirming the diagnosis and assessing the severity of intoxication by measuring HCQ, carried out in the urine and preferably in whole blood. The analytical techniques used are essentially chromatographic. Unfortunately, these reference methods for forensic analyzes are difficult to adapt to emergency due to their delay in reporting results.
