Silicon PV module fitting equations based on experimental measurements

Abstract: Solar photovoltaic (PV) characteristic curves (P‐V and I‐V) offer the information required to configure the PV system to operate as near to its optimal performance as possible. Measurement‐based modeling can provide an accurate description for this purpose. This work analyzes the PV module performance and develops a mathematical formula under particular weather conditions to accurately express these curves based on a custom neural network (CNN). The study initially presents several standard mathematical model … Show more

“…The intentions are vital to reaching the target of 20% RE penetration by 2025. The intermittency challenges will always exist for RE sources for electricity generation mostly [58]. The capital cost increases due to the need for thermal powerplants to back the intermittency challenges of RE.…”

“…Additionally, an improved whale optimization algorithm (WOA) 32 with a balance between local exploitation and global exploration has been employed on both SDM and DDM. To precisely describe the I – V and P – V curves, a custom neural network, in Sabry et al, 33 was used to investigate the performance of a PV module under certain weather circumstances. However, to suit the PV module data in this study, numerous common mathematical model formulations, including Gaussian, exponential, and polynomial models, should be used first.…”
