Silence of Long Noncoding RNA NEAT1 Inhibits Malignant Biological Behaviors and Chemotherapy Resistance in Gastric Cancer

Abstract: Gastric cancer (GC) is the most common solid tumor in digestive system. Nuclear-enriched abundant transcript 1 (NEAT1) gene is a lncRNA, and reveal potential oncogene role in several malignant tumors. The aim of this study is to investigate the expression and clinical significance of Nuclear Paraspeckle Assembly Transcript 1 (NEAT1) gene and its influence to malignant biologic behaviors and chemotherapy resistance to adriamycin in GC. This study found NEAT1 was up-regulated in GC tissues and cells, especially … Show more

“…36 Additionally, NETA1 was reported to be highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues and cells, moreover, NEAT1 knockdown depressed chemotherapy resistance to adriamycin and promoted adriamycin-induced apoptosis in gastric cancer. 37 Consistent with the previous study, 19 our study conrmed the upregulation of NEAT1 in PC tissues and cell lines. Also, higher expression of NEAT1 in docetaxel-resistant PC cells was observed, suggesting that NEAT1 may be involved in docetaxel resistance of PC cells.…”

“…However, most patients will develop DDP resistance after a period of treatment, which is also one of the main reasons leading to recurrence or metastasis of patients. 5 Therefore, how to improve the chemotherapy resistance of gastric carcinoma patients and the chemosensitivity of patients to DDP is one of the difficult problems to be solved clinically at present.…”

“…8 Upregulation of NEAT1 can promote ESCC progression and indicates a poor prognosis. 10,11 NEAT1 is a bad prognostic factor and can regulate GC migration and invasion. 10,11 NEAT1 is a bad prognostic factor and can regulate GC migration and invasion.…”
