Should Paediatricians be Familiar with Osteoporosis?

Abstract: Osteoporosis is recognized as an adult metabolic bone disease, and constitutes a major public health problem world-wide. It is, currently, emerging as a newly recognized problem in children and adolescent. Increased awareness and availability of Dual-Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) facilitate diagnosis.
