Shinkeizu (真景図),ou “pintura de um cenário real”

Abstract: Taking as object of analysis Ike Taiga (1723-1777) landscape paintings (shinkeizu) and relating them to the traditions of the classical (Yamato painting, waka, diaries literature) and the medieval eras (meishoe, haikai, recluse’s writings) and the philosophical discussions of the period within the painter lived,it is aimed to do an analysis of his new visual representation form, which is based in empiric experience, and its characteristics as an important aspect of Edo townsmen culture.
